Strategic partnerships with Aduna, Nokia, Infobip and Glide Identity, ensure enhanced applications and additional revenue opportunities
T Wholesale, part of Deutsche Telekom AG, has entered a series of strategic partnerships that will make Deutsche Telekom Network APIs available to the global developer community, strengthening the API economy. The agreements with Aduna, a company that Deutsche Telekom played a significant part in creating, as well as with Nokia, Infobip and Glide Identity will accelerate network API adoption and accessibility, empowering developers to unlock new possibilities in connectivity and innovation. They will also help deliver several new network APIs in various environments.
The new partnership agreements follow Deutsche Telekom’s initial MagentaBusiness API platform launch with Vonage in Germany and the development of its Service Exposure Platform, which securely exposes network functionalities to developers and is now fully ready.
“Network APIs are a game-changer for the developer community as they improve security and operational efficiency, whilst enabling entirely new applications and additional revenue streams,” said Carsten Bruns, Vice President of Internet & Content Services at T Wholesale. “After a series of intense trials, we are now out of the exploration phase and ready for business at the heart of the network value chain. We are proud to be part of Aduna and to have partnered with such innovative companies as Nokia, Infobip and Glide Identity, giving developers easy access to our telco assets, including advanced mobile network capabilities and network insights to enhance existing applications and develop new ones.”
Strong partners ensure global reach and adoption of network APIs
T Wholesale is proud to have driven the new collaboration with Aduna alongside other partners and providers, a global initiative backed by telecom operators and Ericsson to create a unified platform for Network APIs. Aduna aims to standardize how applications interact with networks, simplifying connectivity and unlocking innovation.
T Wholesale has also welcomed Nokia, Infobip and Glide Identity as partners, each offering a distinct way to connect with developers. These collaborations are a major step toward fostering our multi-channel strategy and encouraging the adoption of Network APIs. Partnerships are essential to fostering innovation, and every player in the ecosystem has a role in driving progress.
Nokia enables developers to integrate network capabilities into applications by connecting multiple API ecosystems through its Network as Code platform with developer portal and recently acquired Rapid API hub. The collaboration fosters innovation, novel value creation, and new business models, as Nokia offers operators the broadest range of network exposure options, paired with robust multi-tier API security to ensure operators can provide developers with simplified access to powerful and advanced network capabilities.
Infobip is a global cloud communications platform that enables businesses to build connected experiences across all stages of the customer journey, and which is fostering a robust developer community centered around its Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS). The collaboration of T Wholesale and Infobip facilitates the creation of innovative applications for consumer, enterprise, and industrial customers, as it enables developers to build a wide array of telco network-powered applications leveraging both companies' API platforms.
Glide Identity pioneers the future of digital identity and authentication. Through our partnership, businesses will soon benefit from better authentication in an emerging AI-driven economy, including safe and seamless interactions between humans and AI agents, as well as enhanced payment security and conversion rates through partnerships with leading checkout providers.
Innovative PoCs to push boundaries for next-generation services
T Wholesale has built strong relationships with industry leaders who have been instrumental in advancing network API adoption. It has conducted various proof-of-concepts (PoC) over the past year to test the capabilities of Deutsche Telekom Network APIs: In collaboration with Microsoft Azure and Broadpeak, T Wholesale enhanced the mobile video streaming experience through QoD Network APIs, as well as improved remote assist services during a PoC with Microsoft Azure and Siemens Energy. Together with Nokia, T Wholesale conducted a successful PoC that tested beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLS) drone flights.
