Introduction of IPv6 to IPX Network

In light of new IoT and 5G roaming applications, it is expected that the limited amount of currently available IPv4 addresses may hinder future growth. In recognition of this development, Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier today announced the introduction of IPv6 address ranges into the Deutsche Telekom IPX network (AS20936). At the same time, IPv4 address ranges will remain in use.

By implementing dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 address ranges, the scarcity of available IP addresses will no longer present a problem. It also ensures IoT and 5G roaming use cases will be supplied with the IP addresses they require. This important milestone highlights Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier’s commitment to enabling premium IPX connectivity services to its customers across the globe.
