Winning the "Best Network” Unicom Global Partner Award 2024

The Unicom Global Partner Awards 2024 ceremony in Shanghai, China was another victorious night for Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier, winning the “Best Network Award” for our outstanding roaming network and role as service provider. The event, hosted by China Unicom, and the exciting moment of achievement was experienced on site by our very own Johannes Opitz Vice President Commercial Roaming and International Mobile Wholesale at Deutsche Telekom AG, and Francesco Votta, Head of 5G SA & IoT Roaming enablement at Telekom Deutschland GmbH—announcing the news first-hand with great pride.

They share this pride with a great team that, with the award win, receives another well-deserved recognition for their work to successfully connect Unicom China and our other partners. The China Unicom Partnership Conference 2024, taking place at the Shanghai Expo Center, highlighted the company's substantial power and innovative vitality, which it continues leveraging to provide new opportunities for its partners and drive industry upgrading. Looking ahead, Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier anticipates furthering this partnership to foster a secure, connected world.

Engaged with best network and service provider expertise

This year marked a significant deepening of Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier's participation: We extend our heartfelt gratitude to China Mobile International Limited and China Unicom for inviting our experts Johannes Opitz and Francesco Votta to contribute as panelist and guest speakers at their events. They engaged pivotal discussions on the future of roaming and the transformative power of 5G, highlighting the necessity of security and innovation in this new era.

Johannes Opitz focused on the evolving landscape of roaming and the increasing imperative for security. Francesco Votta elucidated the transformative nature of 5G and the necessity of embracing change to collectively advance and ensure a secure environment for our customers. Furthermore, Vottas involvement in the China Unicom Open Gateway initiative, in collaboration with GSMA, underscored the indispensable role of security in 5G roaming.
