Our internet access solutions ensure a strong SD-WAN underlay

SD-WAN services demand a reliable and flexible underlay network to meet the evolving connectivity needs of modern businesses. Our Internet Access solutions—Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Broadband Internet Access, and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA)—are designed to exceed these expectations by delivering the following key benefits:

1. High Performance and Reliability
SD-WAN requires consistent, low-latency connectivity to support critical business applications and seamless cloud access. Our DIA ensures symmetrical bandwidth and dedicated connections with robust SLA guarantees, providing a stable and high-performance foundation.

2. Scalability for Dynamic Needs
As SD-WAN allows dynamic bandwidth allocation and multi-path optimization, our scalable Broadband Internet Access and DIA solutions ensure businesses can easily adapt to changing demands, from routine operations to bandwidth-intensive tasks.

3. Wide Coverage and Deployment Flexibility
With extensive availability across Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Romania, our solutions provide flexible deployment options. Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) further expands the reach of SD-WAN to remote or hard-to-wire locations.

4. Cost-Effective and Resilient Options
SD-WAN thrives on cost efficiency by leveraging diverse underlay technologies. Our Broadband Internet Access and FWA solutions offer affordable yet reliable connectivity for less critical applications or backup purposes, complementing DIA for a balanced cost-performance mix.

By aligning with the core requirements of SD-WAN — including performance, reliability, scalability, and flexibility — our Internet Access solutions empower businesses to unlock the full potential of their SD-WAN deployments.

FAQs for Internet Access

What is the difference between Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) and Broadband Internet Access (BIA)?

DIA provides symmetrical bandwidth, dedicated to a single customer, ensuring consistent upload and download speeds. BIA offers asymmetrical bandwidth shared among multiple users, making it ideal for standard business internet needs.

What bandwidth options are available for DIA and BIA?

DIA supports bandwidths from 2 Mbps to 10 Gbps depending on location and infrastructure. BIA bandwidth options depend on local access technology and are typically lower than DIA.

What is Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and how does it differ from other services?

FWA provides internet access using a 4G/5G mobile network, designed for specific locations. Unlike DIA or BIA, it offers a lower maximum bandwidth (50 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up) and is best suited for temporary use or areas without fixed-line coverage.

Can I use my own router for these services?

Yes, but the configurations vary:

  • For DIA, both managed and unmanaged Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) options are available.
  • For BIA and FWA, Telekom provides managed CPE by default.

What type of addresses are provided by this services?

Telekom allocates static public IPv4 (/30 or larger ranges) and IPv6 addresses (/127 or larger). The specific allocation depends on the service type and country regulations.

What is the typical installation lead time for these services?

  • DIA: Installation times depend on pre-sales feasibility checks but typically range between 4-8 weeks.
  • BIA: Best effort lead times based on local conditions.
  • FWA: Lead time is 10-15 working days.

What are the SLA commitments for these services?

  • DIA: Up to 99.9% availability with a Mean Time to Restore (MTTR) of 8 hours.
  • BIA: 97% annual availability with next-business-day fault resolution.
  • FWA: 97% annual availability with next-business-day resolution, but no guaranteed throughput.

Can these services support dual-stack (IPV4 and IPV6) configurations?

Yes, DIA supports dual-stack configurations. However, this feature may require additional configuration or requests in specific regions.

Are there any limitations on data usage for these services?

  • DIA and BIA: Unlimited data with no Fair Use Policy restrictions.
  • FWA: Unlimited data, but usage exceeding 700 GB/month may result in revised pricing per the Fair Use Policy.

What happense if my service exceeds the contracted bandwidth or data limits?

For DIA and BIA, bandwidth upgrades can be requested without downtime. FWA usage exceeding Fair Use limits may result in a pricing adjustment. Contact your account manager for specific options.
