FAQs for our CPaaS solution

What is CPaaS?

CPaaS stands for Communications Platform as a Service. It is a cloud-based service that allows developers, customers, and companies to integrate real-time communication features into their applications via APIs.

What communication channels can be integrated via CPaaS?

CPaaS enables the integration of various communication channels, including voice, SMS, chat, video, and analytics.

What are the benefits of using T Wholesale's CPaaS solution?

Our CPaaS offers several benefits, including:

  • Significant brand recognition and a large commercial footprint.
  • Cost advantage from a leading international wholesaler with competitive termination rates.
  • Compliance with industry standards such as ISO certification and GDPR.
  • Leveraging Deutsche Telekom Group's critical assets and know-how.
  • Direct interconnections to all major operators globally from an established incumbent operator.
  • Proprietary and partner system integration capabilities.
  • API exposure offers high-quality routes.
  • Wholesale access to number ranges.

What is unique about T Wholesale's CPaaS offering compared to other providers?

Unlike other CPaaS providers, we offer wholesale solutions and transparent quality routing. Customers can also take advantage of our white label portal for enterprise customer management and our quality voice and SMS termination.

What are some examples of how businesses can use CPaaS?

  • Automated Reminders: Businesses specializing in personal services can reduce no-show rates by sending out automated appointment reminders via SMS or voice messages.
  • Two-Factor Authentication: Businesses can use CPaaS for enhanced security. A specific access is secured by a login access together with a one-time password delivered by SMS.
  • Integrated Omnichannel Communication: CPaaS, integrated with a marketing solution, can improve the overall customer experience with various communication channels and track any interaction.
  • Number Masking: Businesses can enable multiple parties to engage in a voice or SMS conversation while replacing participant phone numbers with temporary virtual numbers.
  • Chatbots: CPaaS can provide instant help to customers with automated responses through chatbots, which frees up human workers to perform more complex tasks.
  • Food Delivery Process Transformation: Food delivery services can use CPaaS to simplify and streamline their delivery process by sending order details to restaurants and updating customers on order status via SMS.

How does two-factor authentication with CPaaS work?

When a user signs in to an application or service using their credentials, CPaaS is requested to verify the user. It generates a two-factor authentication code and sends a PIN code to the user via SMS. The user then types the code into the application, and CPaaS is requested to verify the code. It compares the codes and grants access if they match.

What are the different types of authentication factors?

  • Knowledge factor: Something you know that can't be physically lost but can be copied, such as a password or PIN code.
  • Possession factor: Something you have that can't be easily copied but stolen, like a bank card or physical key.
  • Biometric factor: Something you are that can't be easily faked, such as a fingerprint or face ID.

What are some use cases for two-factor authentication?

  • Account Creation: Verifying that the email or phone number used to create an account is valid and preventing the creation of accounts with fake identities.
  • Financial Transactions: Protecting online accounts and securing digital payments.
  • Sensitive Data: Protecting sensitive data. Depending on the industry, such as government websites, it's necessary to adopt two-factor authentication for all login attempts.

What are some of the APIs offered by T Wholesale's CPaaS solution?

  • One-way Messaging: APIs for sending one-way SMS messages and retrieving delivery reports.
  • Two-way Messaging: APIs for sending and receiving two-way SMS messages, including parsing capabilities, and with dependency on numbers.
  • Programmable Voice: APIs for outbound calling, two-way calling, and text-to-speech functionality.
  • WebRTC: APIs for enabling real-time web communication.
  • Numbers: APIs for purchasing and managing phone numbers.
  • Digital Service Apps: APIs for enabling features such as Mail2SMS and two-factor authentication.
  • Omnichannel: APIs for managing personalized business interactions across various channels.
  • Campaign Manager: APIs for creating and managing marketing campaigns.

How can I get started with T Wholesale's CPaaS solution?
